SERVICE:
I can identify your unknown Lego bags and minifigures.
PURPOSE:
Increasing your Lego item sales profits.
PROCEDURE:
You send me item pictures, I research and identify your items for you.
In short, you get more money when selling your Lego items without doing any extra work at all besides contracting me.  Every day, eBay sellers are missing out on sales opportunities and the full sales value of their Lego items because bags, sets, or minifigures were not properly identified and advertised.  Sometimes this means only a few dollars lost, sometimes it means hundreds of dollars lost.  Usually, it is somewhere in between.  Non-sellers who are just curious about what they have are welcome, too!
WHY WOULD YOU WANT THIS SERVICE?
“What do I have?”  Unless you are a hobbyist or experienced Lego seller, the identity and value of assorted Lego items can be difficult to determine, and many people resort to selling unknown items on eBay with an arbitrary price.  Some people greatly over-price their bags or other items, often meaning they sit for months or years without a buyer.  But, some people greatly UNDER-price their listings.  Sometimes the difference between making 2, 3, or even 5 times as much money is simply knowing the IDENTITY of your items.  I can help you with that.
Using experience, specialized tools and techniques, brow sweat, and some creativity, I can usually identify most sealed Lego bags (numbered or unnumbered).  Sellers can receive immediate benefits to having their bags properly identified — their listings will get more attention, will be more targeted, and will justify an appropriate price which will potentially be much higher than someone had thought to list their items for.  I began honing this skill during the pandemic shutdowns and have identified many hundreds of Lego bags in the past year and a half.  I can’t guarantee immediate sales, but I
can
guarantee better opportunities for sellers, especially those undervaluing their items.
Identifying Lego minifigures, identifying what portions of sets can be built from a collection of polybags, and identifying what parts are missing from a lot that would be required to complete a set are also services I offer.  Some minifigures are worth nothing much — $1 or less — while others can be sold for $10, $20, or a lot more.  Please contact me to have me create a listing for you with the exact service parameters and pricing you are wanting!
This listing you are currently reading is for a specific customer and will be a charge of $10.75 for the set identity of any given polybag lot.
SERVICE DETAILS:
You send me usable images of the Lego items you want identified, and I will research and provide information about what they are and what they go to.  There are three kinds of items I identify through this specific service listing: (1) sealed bags with a step number printed on them, (2) sealed bags without a step number printed on them, (3) minifigures.  If you want me to identify used set lots which are not in bags, I can create a custom service listing for you based on the size of your lot and other details we negotiate beforehand.
Have a boatload of items you want identified without doing a bunch of counting and ordering?  Shoot me a message about your needs.  Pricing is negotiable and personalizable.  Most orders will be fulfilled within 24 hours of receiving proper images.  Many orders will be completed sooner, but larger batches may require extra time, depending on circumstances.
CONDITIONS:
1.
Images must be adequate for viewing item contents — blurry, partial, very poor quality, or far-away pictures may not be adequate for some items, and I may request better images before continuing.  As long as there is decent lighting and a clear and close shot, things are probably fine.  Front AND back pictures of bags are preferred, and it is fine to send a handful of shots without sorting through them to choose the best.  Angles are our friends.  Minifigure pictures are easiest to take by lining all the figures up in a series of rows, on their backs, and taking a straight-down picture of them.  Get better coverage for clarity by taking multiple pictures of the same lots.
2.
Sometimes the identity of an item is either not possible based only on the images or identifying something is just not within my means.  I will let you know if this happens, and provide additional information about what an item MIGHT be or why it isn’t possible for me to fully identify.  Given these limitations, I cannot guarantee 100% identification of all items.  That wouldn’t be realistic, no matter one’s abilities or expertise.  Free identification of a replacement item is offered in the case of any failures to identify.
3a.
If the item is not actually Lego, I will not be able to identify it for you beyond telling you it is not Lego.  Additionally, if an item LOOKS Lego brand in pictures but is not confirmed as Lego by checking the specific parts, I cannot promise you have a genuine product rather than an off-brand reproduction.  This is mostly just a concern with minifigures, which can sometimes look very similar, because sealed bags will usually be easier to visually differentiate.  I can explain how to get brand confirmation if you are worried — it involves looking for brand marks in the piece molds.
3b.
If the item is Lego but has been tampered with, a proper identification may not be possible.  This mostly pertains to bags which have been resealed by consumers, sometimes in an attempt to make an opened set polybag
appear to be a new and factory-sealed polybag.  These reseal jobs are
often missing vital pieces, or repacked with different parts, even used parts.  If a bag has been secretly resealed, I may report the bag as unidentifiable or issue an inaccurate identification which does not match because there is no true match.  Hopefully I will be able to tell you something is wrong, but it is not always possible, especially via photo.
4.
If a minifigure is not constructed according to official Lego instructions, it will not be a set-specific minifigure rather than a custom build.  I can tell you which minifigures are set-accurate and which are not, but identifying each specific contributing minifigure part origin (which can be 9 or more other individual minifigures) for custom builds is NOT included in the service price and would require additional payment.  I can still tell you if swapping the parts around will yield some set-accurate figures, as is often the case with at least some minifigures in lots taken from the same source.
5.
I am here to help you identify and better sell your items, not to magically make them worth more.  Some things are worth a lot and people don’t always realize it, but some things aren’t worth much at all.  It is up to the market and to scarcity, so I cannot guarantee you are trying to sell something worth a lot — maybe you aren’t.  My identification service prices are very low, meaning it is a low-risk investment, whereas the financial benefits of proper identification can be double or triple digits.
6.
If you aren’t sure what is included or how to best make use of these services, please send a message before making a purchase.  I am happy to explain anything you’d like explained.  I can also perform a demo for you by identifying the bags of an already-live listing from another seller and explaining the difference in value between the listed price and what that seller might be able to get if their bags were properly identified and advertised.  Many ‘mystery listings’ are over-priced, but there are always some under-priced ones, too.
